You want to play Battlefield 4, Watchdogs or other great PS4 games online? But required downloads stop you due to a DNS error on the PlayStation 4? I know this sucks. It is just as frustrating as when you are invited to a basement sexparty in the retirement home and there have to masturbate because all grandma-pussies are already spoken for! Hahahaa!
All kidding aside, How to fix a DNS Failure (NW-31250-1) on the PS4?
Google knows the solution. By this I do not mean that you should ask Google to find out how to fix a DNS Failure – You landed on my blog, because you’ve already asked Google ..As you know, Google is today more than just a search engine. Google is also a domain name server. And if there is a DNS error on the PlayStation network, then something is wrong with the IP addresses used by your current ISP’s domain name servers. This problem can thus be resolved…by Google. Yes, on 3 December 2009 Google implemented his own Domain Name System (DNS) called Google Public DNS. By the Way, Its the largest public DNS service in the world, handling more than 130 billion requests per day.
This means, by Changing your DNS servers settings manually to The Google Public DNS server addresses, you will fix that annoying DNS Error on the PlayStation Network (PSN). I suppose that you did set up your Internet connection automatically on the PS4. But in order to fix the DNS-Error You have to manually set the PS4′s network settings to use 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 as DNS.
And before you Manually Set Up an Online PS4 Connection, you have to note your Network Settings such as the IP address or Subnet mask.
If you got all items necessary for the network environment, then follow these instructions:
- On Your Controller press the PS Button
- Go to the Settings menu
- Then select Network
- Select Set Up Internet Connection
- Select either Wifi or LAN Cable
- Select Custom
- Select Your Network Name and enter password
- Select Manual
- Set the IP Address and Subnet Mask. BUT as Primary DNS and Secondary DNS just use The Google Public DNS IP addresses (IPv4) 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4.
This should fix the PS4 DNS Failure (NW-31250-1). Hope you enjoy gaming!
